Membership of West Surrey Family History Society
The benefits of membership of the Society are:- Quarterly journal - Root and Branch (Electronic or Paper version)
- Access to Services as described in the Members' Area of the WSFHS website
- Regular Meetings at venues across West Surrey
- Contact with fellow members of the Society
- Vote at General Meetings of the Society (only Members aged 18 years or over).
- Ordinary
- Family - for two members at the same address, all of whom may attend meetings, but who shall share a single copy of the Society's journal and who shall be entitled to not more than two votes per membership at General Meetings of the Society. Please note, no age related reduction is applicable for Family Members
- Senior citizen - for those 60 and over
- Overseas - for those not in the UK.
To join us
Our subscription year commences on 1st April. New members joining after 1st January are credited with membership until 31st March of the year following.You can pay (new or renewal):
- By sterling cheque payable to “West Surrey FHS”, to the Membership Secretary: A. M Ross, 5 Blaise Close, Farnborough, Hampshire, GU14 7EW, England.
- By credit card via our stand at Genfair (there is an additional 50p administration charge) or at Parish Chest.
New members
If paying by cheque, please include your name, address, email address and SAE to the Membership Secretary or complete and send the joining form .Existing Members
If paying by cheque please include your name and membership number and your address and email address if they have changed.You can also set up a Standing Order (see the Guide for Members page).

The subscription rates for 2026 are as follows:For the electronic version:
- £13: Ordinary, Family or Overseas
- £12: Senior Citizen
- £18: UK Ordinary or Family
- £17: UK Senior Citizen
- £21: Overseas
